History of Union Printer
Union Printer is a full service commercial
printing and mailing company.
The company originally opened its doors in
1974. In 1981, the company purchased a building near
North Lamar and Airport Road, here in Austin, Texas.
The business continued to grow as a small commercial
printer. In 1993, the founders of the company sold
the business to Dan Brannon.
Since purchasing the company, Brannon and his
staff have strived to develop new accounts with
businesses, ad agencies, associations and government
agencies. Union Printer purchases new equipment to
maintain its state-of-the-art printing facility.
Scitex Digital Imaging for film output was added in
1992. Since then, the company has upgraded imaging
in 2000 and then made the switch to Computer to
Plate (CTP) in 2005. New Heidelberg presses were
purchased in 1995, 1999, 2001, 2004, and most
recently, another 6 Color Heidelberg press (with
coater) in 2006.
The bindery department is one of the best
equipped in the region. The company has also added
new high speed mailing equipment to better automate
the bulk mail process. Presently, our mailing
department processes hundreds of thousands of pieces
of mail per day. We have the ability to drop ship
mailings across the country..
In June of 1999, Brannon purchased a new
28,000 square foot building in the Walnut Creek
Business Park, which accommodates our current needs
and our future expansion.
